This weekend was splendid.
Saturday I had to work but I cut out an hour early to go and enjoy the day. S really wanted to go to the Metro Cruise and I really wanted to take a nap. So instead I showered and refreshed myself to try and get a second wind.
I finally gave in and said I'd go with him to the Metro Cruise only after he agreed to take the motorcycle (and not his awful truck).
Traffic was real slow going and at one point we had to get off of 28th to pull over and let the bike cool down. Of course he manages to find an empty parking lot with no shade. It's effin hot out people and I have jean capris on and tennis shoes on.
We finally make it down to Rogers Plaza parking lot and looked around for awhile. I'm not sure what was more fun the car watching or people watching.
After we had enough of the crowds and heat we got back on the bike and ventured off to look for somewhere to eat.
We ended up at Big Bob's in East Grand Rapids. We ordered their Italian chicken Alfredo pizza and breadsticks. Had a couple of cocktails and even had room for dessert. We had been eyeing their gelato case the entire time. I ordered the Kahlua tirimisu (sp?) and S ordered the banana caramel praline. YUM delish!!!
It was a great day and felt like a date. I know you are thinking, these people have no kids so every time is date night. But not really. We usually go to Bud and Stan's, which is nice and our fav., but we go so much it's almost like our second home.
So when we do something special and out of the ordinary it feels like a date night.
Anyhow, we had a great time.

Every couple needs a date night, kids or not.
ReplyDeleteAnd Big Bob's is one our favorites! They frequently deliver their wet burritos to our house.
