Hooray for two days off from work and an extra hooray for Christmas arriving soon.
Stopped at D&W on my way home from work. Much better store then our ghetto Family Fare or Ghetto Fare as we call it. Picked up bagged lettuce (what I was told to bring for Christmas Eve) and supplies to make 7 layer dip (what I was told to bring for Christmas). BTW: Here's the recipe. I made this for S's work Christmas party last year and it was a huge hit. Adding the sausage to it makes it extra yummy!
7-Layer Taco Dip:
1 pound Bob Evans roll sausage
1 (16oz) can refried beans
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 cups shredded mexican cheese blend
1 (16oz) container sour cream
1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chilis
1 large tomato, diced
1 (6oz) can sliced black olives
1 (11oz) jar salsa
1 package taco seasoning
1. In a large skillet over med. heat, crumble and cook sausage until browned. Stir in beans, chilis and taco seasoning. Spread sausage mix into serving dish (I like using a 9x13 so that the layers are thinner and you get a mix of everything when you scoop). Top with sour cream then salsa. Sprinkle olives, tomato and onion on top. Cover with cheese.
