Weekend Roundup

Friday we loaded up the truck in the rain when S got home at 7:00, he showered, we ate a quick cheese quesadilla meal then headed to Muskegon.

Of course when we arrived around 9:00ish it was still raining cats and dogs. We tent camp so this was going to pose a problem and make for a not very fun night.

While setting everything up we left the dog in the truck until the tent was set up then we pitched her in the tent to stay drive. Meanwhile we were soaking wet and wouldn't you know it, as soon as we were done, it stopped raining.

So we enjoyed a couple of cocktails sitting under the canopy in our wet clothes then called it a night.

Luckily for us I packed a sh*t load of blankets and we stayed toasty warm despite the wind and cold.

Saturday we got up and it was still on the cold and windy side but it was not raining. So this we can tolerate. We went into town for a bit and visited the Harley dealership along with the Shoreline Spectacular which was not spectacular at all. I think the cold kept a lot of the vendors away. Lame.

So we went back to the campsite to hang out and have lunch. We took the dog for many walks, played some scoop ball, people watched, had a bonfire and cooked up some dinner.

Of course the bonfire was cut short do to.....more rain.

Sunday was MUCH nicer. Blue skies and absolutely gorgeous out. We stayed at the campground all day Sunday and enjoyed the weather. No rain again until somewhere near midnight (I'm guessing here) so we again had a rain shortened bonfire.

Monday morning we got up at 9:00 and it started raining. We needed to tear down camp and be out by 11:00. So we had the enjoyment of taking everything down in the pouring rain.

When we got home the tent was hung up in the garage and the pop up canopy was set up in the basement to dry. I did many loads of laundry and dishes, showered and then we enjoyed a nice long nap.

  1. If I was forced to camp, I think I would need a bed like Cupid.

  2. She layed on a towel Saturday and most of the day Sunday. Towards the end of the day I could tell she had enough of the hard ground and wanted her doggie air mattress. It was $40 but she loves it!
