For my birthday on the 25th S surprised me with a trip to South Haven. We stayed at a bed and breakfast. It was the first time we have stayed at one. It was really nice, we had a queen suite. The bathroom had a whirlpool, a sitting room with a refrigerator, and a bedroom with a fireplace.
We enjoyed all the amenities they offered. They had bikes that we used to go for a ride around the neighborhood and played some shuffleboard. We took a walk down to the beach, even though it was cold and windy.
Saturday night we went out for dinner. The nice Italian restaurant we originally wanted to try unfortunately they only take reservations and we were not told that when we stopped in during the afternoon. So we tried another Italian restaurant. The food was okay but we were so hungry we didn't let it bother us too much.
Breakfast in the morning was fabulous. They had three little tables and everyone came down in shifts so we weren't forced to make awkward conversation with strangers. They made a spinach and sun dried tomato quiche with a side of the meat of your choice. And then a table with muffins, bagels, fruit, and bread.
Sunday was absolutely gorgeous out. We took a nice walk down the pier and around the marina. Drove the scenic route home and stopped and visited a couple of antique stores.
He definitely surprised me with this trip and the best part was he planned it all!
