October happenings

S has his plow truck up for sale, A.K.A. Chitty Bang Bang. He's not plowing anymore, due to lack of time, and figures he might as well get rid of it while it still looks and runs good. He's not quite ready to rebuild the truck in the garage and what he would like to buy is terribly expensive and not something he wants to dump money into right now.

That means that he is going to drive my car for the Winter and I get something newer. Holla!!! At first I was all over the map on what to buy. I know what I don't want: full size car, mini van, or gigantic SUV are out of the question. I also don't want something with a huge payment or too many miles.

After speaking with one of the owners at my job I'm thinking that a Ford Escape is a possibility. I like the looks of them better then a Trailblazer and they get better gas mileage. I haven't test drove one yet but we drove around through some dealerships Sunday and from looking, I like. He also suggested a Saturn Vue but I think I want something more solid. They look nice but I think I want steel over plastic. So need to get some test drives in. Possibly this weekend.

This Saturday night I have a Zumbathon hosted by my workout place, Rezultz Fitness, at a church in Byron Center. The proceeds are going to Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids. Zumba, silent auction, prizes, raffles and snacks. Sounds like fun!

Sunday I have my cousin's bridal shower in the afternoon. Always nice to catch up with family.

My brother, B, is working for the PBR (Professional Bull Riding). He usually is behind the scenes. Does the setting up and tearing down of the chutes and holding pens, and pulls the rope off the bulls during the show.

Last weekend they had a show right in Times Square and he worked the gate. They aired the show Sunday on PBS. Here's some pics I took off the PBR website. He has the black shirt and black hat on. I would guess he's about 5'6", just shows how gigantic these bulls are.

  1. Holy crap! Your brother looks like he's going to get squashed! I'm sure he's quick on his feet though!
