We made it through Christmas Eve with my in-laws and Christmas day with my family. With the lack of snow neither really felt like Christmas. I'm not a huge fan of snow but I really like it at Christmas when I wake up, look outside and there is a fresh blanket of snow. Everything looks so pretty and picturesque.
I'm really tired of looking at my Christmas decorations but haven't made the time to take them down yet. I have four large Rubbermaid bins of stuff that goes out plus the tree. It would probably be down by now had I felt like lugging those bad boys back up the stairs then back down.
I bought a new crock pot yesterday with some Christmas money. How exciting right? All this time I just thought that it was my lack of slow cooker cooking skills that had me burning about everything I made in my old one. Turns out it was a piece of crap! I loaned it to my parents for Christmas and gave my dad strict instructions to put it on low for whatever he put in that thing because it would burn regardless. Of course it burned the meatballs after being in there only a couple of hours. My mom said it shouldn't do that. She has the same crock pot and when she cooks on low it doesn't boil or burn.
While at Target shopping for a new crock pot I was eying the latte/espresso/mocha makers. I really don't want to buy one of the super fancy ones that cost $100+ dollars but think it would be great to have for the morning to cut down on my number of trips to Bigby during the week.
I found yesterday that Mr. Coffee makes this one and it only costs $40! Of course they were out and did not have any in stock. Good for me though and my impulsive purchases. Anyone have any suggestions on this? I want one that is decent but does not cost a fortune.
Put this trip on your calendars folks because I actually walked out of Target only buying that crock pot! It helped that I had dinner plans with a friend and left myself only 20 minutes to get in and out of there.
Nothing concrete for New Year's Eve. We talked about seeing Domestic Problems at the Intersection with some friends. We went a few years ago and had a nice time. I could take it or leave it. Staying home with comfy clothes, finger foods, and watching a movie or playing video games sounds just as appealing to me.
