Table or tv?

I am beat. Mondays are killer. I work in an office from 9-5 (9-3 if it's my early day but then I rush home to get some things done). Then high tail it out to Lowell to teach from 5:30-9:15. By the time I pack up my stuff and go over things with the studio owner it's usually 9:30-9:45 by the time I get out of there and home around 10:00ish. The wonderful hubby usually has dinner made, and waiting, for when I get home. (I leave instructions for him as to what to cook and how to cook it, if needed. I learned my lesson and one time forgot to leave him a note as to what to make and he made NOTHING).  I eat a smaller portion then usual due to the extremely late time then try to stay awake long enough for my food to settle before getting ready for bed.
So all this leaves me very tired on Tuesday. I took my early day today. I actually accomplished some tasks and feel I did a great deal, all things considering. Shook out and vacuumed the rugs, cleaned the laminate flooring and threw a load of laundry in the wash. Later I'll throw together dinner and hope that our AT&T Uverse is working so we can eat dinner and watch tv.
Talking with some relatives at a bridal shower a couple of months ago I found out that S and I are not the only ones that eat on tv trays in front of the tv.  A couple of years ago we even ate Thanksgiving this way. Our pub style table is basically used to pile mail and other belongings that are dropped on it after walking in the door. We, on a rare occasion, will eat at the table. Honestly though I couldn't tell you when the last time was.
I can see how families with little ones would find this quite challenging but back before the kiddos did you eat more at your dining room table or in front of the tv?

  1. Hmmm. Back pre-Small Fry, we would eat 1/2 the time in front of the tv and 1/2 the time at our table. Now it's probably still 50/50. Ezra and Iris always eat at the table and we sit and eat breakfast and lunch as a fam (mostly on the weekends). Dinner gets eaten at three different times, so for T and I--it's usually the couch.
