Muskegon Bike Time

I've been waiting to post about Bike Time until I could post some pics along with it but I have not had any time to download the pictures on to the computer. So here goes.

Our friend J and I arrived at the Muskegon KOA on Friday afternoon. I drove the truck, aka Chitty Bang Bang, with all the camping gear and he rode up his motorcycle. We unloaded and set up camp and popped open some beers. Because of the horrible heat we basically just sat at camp and enjoyed our adult beverages.

S finally got to Muskegon around 9:30 and I had dinner ready when he arrived. Brats, pasta salad, chips and dip. We stayed up until 2:00 sitting around the bonfire.

We got up around 8:30 Saturday and got ready to go into town. We all looked a little rough but after having lunch we got our second wind. We toured the strip, spent a fortune at the dealership (or I did anyways), went through the vendor booths and watched some of the acts.

At 3:00 I had had enough. I needed to get out of the sun and relax. So we went back to the campsite and sat in the shade, re hydrated, ate some dinner (ribs, garlic bread, baked potatoes) then went back to the dealership to watch the free concert, Kenny Wayne Shepard. It was a pretty good concert. We high tailed it out of there as soon as it was over to beat all the drunks out on the road.

We started up a bonfire when we got back and stayed up entirely too late once again.

Back up early on Sunday to meet J's parents at the dealership. They rode their bike down from Newaygo to hang out with us for the day. We walked around for awhile then ducked into a bar for some lunch. We knew heavy rain was on the way and we didn't want to get stuck in it so we waited it out until it passed. Afterwards we went for a ride then ended back up at the campground around 6:00ish. We had some dinner then packed up all our gear and headed home at 8:00.
